Anthony Shop
Co-founder, Social Driver; Chairman, National Digital Roundtable
Anthony Shop believes in the power of people, not platforms, to build trust and sustain online movements. He is Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Social Driver, a Washington-based marketing and communications firm that helps organizations strengthen credibility and expand influence through digital strategy. Social Driver has partnered with leaders across public health, advocacy, and the private sector, launching and managing grassroots campaigns in communities ranging from military families to small business owners.
As Chairman of the National Digital Roundtable, Anthony leads quarterly discussions in partnership with LinkedIn, convening senior communicators, policymakers, and innovators to explore emerging trends in influence, technology, and civic engagement. He also hosts the Chief Influencer podcast in partnership with The George Washington University, spotlighting leaders who have broken through in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.
Prior to founding Social Driver, Anthony served as press secretary for a closely watched Congressional campaign. A former newspaper reporter, he was the first new media professional elected to the National Press Club’s Board of Governors. Today, he is a trusted advisor to CEOs and senior leaders seeking to build digital thought leadership and mobilize communities online. He currently serves on the boards of the Public Affairs Council and NPR-affiliate WAMU, and teaches at The George Washington University.
