Ying Lin

Lecturer, Applied Analytics; Director of Analytics, Syracuse University

Dr. Ying Lin is an AI and advanced analytics professional with more than two decades of experience in research, teaching, and product development across higher education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and marketing. Dr. Lin has presented at national analytics conferences, where he converts technical ideas into practical roadmaps, cultivates cross-functional teamwork, and guides up-and-coming data professionals.

As Director of Analytics at Syracuse University and an adjunct professor in Applied Data Science, Dr. Lin has architected and deployed multiple predictive-modeling and generative-AI systems used in enrollment management and institutional research. Previously, at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Dr. Lin held senior analytics positions in bioinformatics, biostatistics, and marketing analytics. His work contributed to biomarker discovery research in personalized medicine and supported the development and launch of Votrient® (pazopanib). As Manager of Advanced Analytics within Consumer and Business Insights at GSK, he oversaw projects involving brand performance dashboards, multichannel marketing analytics, and healthcare professional segmentation within CRM systems.

Dr. Lin earned his Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Delaware, specializing in machine learning, statistical data mining, and computational learning theory.
