Joia Simmons

Joia Simmons is a 2025 HBCU Fellow at Columbia University, where she is pursuing a Master’s in Human Capital Management. She holds an undergraduate degree in Honors Psychology with a Business minor, which has laid a strong foundation for her interest in organizational behavior and talent strategy. With a strong background in leadership development, global human resources, and human behavior research, Joia has excelled with companies such as Bank of America and GAF Energy in an HR role. Through her graduate studies at Columbia, Joia is deepening her expertise in building inclusive workplaces, strategic decision-making, and workforce management.
