Ermina Chowdhury

Columbia SPS CUNY Fellow | Hunter College (Class of 2025)

Born and raised in the Bronx, Ermina is a Hunter College graduate in Economics and Public Policy with a strong commitment to educational equity. A lifelong public school student inspired by her mother’s teaching career, she is passionate about creating pathways that help students and communities thrive.

At Hunter, she was recognized through the JFEW Eleanor Roosevelt Scholars Program, the Roger Herz Public Service Scholar Program, and the CUNY Investment Industry Fellowship. She also served as President of Forté, a women-leading business club, where she organized professional development events and expanded opportunities for students interested in business and policy.

She is now pursuing graduate studies in Nonprofit Management at Columbia SPS, where she aims to build new connections and build her career at the intersection of policy, nonprofit consulting, and grant management. Ermina hopes to use her skills to advance equity and create lasting change in New York City and beyond.
