Joe Hao

Joe Hao is a well-recognized leader specializing in renewable energy and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as Head of Energy & AI at Aspen Power, Joe manages over $1 billion in renewable energy assets across the US and technology platform. He has also co-founded and served as CTO of PBCN Solar Tech from 2019-2021, overseeing more than 1.6 GW of solar and battery energy storage systems in Asia.

Joe actively explores and implements innovative solutions using advanced technologies such as AI, drones, intelligent IoT devices, big data analytics, and machine learning algorithms. Notably, under his leadership, PBCN operates Asia's largest solar power facility with 850 MW of solar generation capacity combined with a 250 MWh battery storage system. Joe's initiatives also include integrating renewable energy assets with blockchain technology, particularly in emerging markets across Southeast Asia and Africa. Joe envisions future electrical grids as intelligent, decentralized, and interconnected systems that integrate seamlessly with renewable energy sources, storage solutions, and advanced analytics, driving smarter, more resilient global energy infrastructures.

Joe holds a Master's in Sustainable Energy Management from Columbia University, where he received several academic awards, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Renmin University of China. Additionally, he has significant international experience contributing to post-conflict reconstruction in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
