Maryum Khan

Bioethics Program Representative

Hey everyone, my name is Maryum Khan, and I’m pursuing a Master of Science in Bioethics at Columbia University. I currently serve as the Bioethics Representative for the SPS Student Government, where I’m dedicated to uniting the student body within the Bioethics program, across SPS, and throughout Columbia overall. My goal is to strengthen communication between students, faculty, and administration while fostering an inclusive, transparent community where every voice is valued.

With a background in psychology, bioethics, political science, and advocacy, I’m dedicated to transforming ethical reflection into implementable change, where empowerment meets accountability. This year, I aim to enhance inter-program collaboration, promote ethical leadership, and translate dialogue into action.

In addition to student government, I serve as Vice President of the Graduate Muslim Student Association (GMSA) and New Jersey Representative for Charity Week, a global initiative supporting orphans and children in need. Outside academics, I enjoy reading, watching Bollywood, trying new foods, and exploring New York City.
