Danielle Raspas

Danielle Rapsas is pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainability Science. She currently serves as the program’s representative within the SPS Student Government (SPSSG). In this role, Danielle is looking to collaborate across programs and bring sustainability into conversations in various sectors. She looks forward to facilitating events that go beyond networking, but foster friendships and connections across the program, SPS, and the university. 

Danielle graduated from Barnard College with a Bachelor of Arts in Environment & Sustainability and Human Rights and with a minor in Political Science. She is interested in food systems, soil and water quality, and environmental justice efforts. Her interdisciplinary background serves as a foundation to her approach as a program representative: bringing together people of similar interests. 

At Columbia, Danielle is a research assistant at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, where she analyzes Cambodian rice and soils. She enjoys bridging the knowledge she gains in her coursework into the laboratory, so she is excited to bring this background to the SPS community! In her free time, Danielle enjoys baking, working out, crafting, thrifting, and playing with her cats.
