Mathilde Geannopulos

Alumni, NECR '25

Mathilde Geannopulos is a recent graduate of the M.S. in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (NECR) program at Columbia University. She focuses on crisis coaching, conflict mediation, and systems-level facilitation, with a commitment to transforming moments of tension into opportunities for connection and growth. Her master’s thesis, Fractured Dialogue and Escalation in Union Negotiations: Chicago Teachers Strike 2019 reflects her research interest in escalation dynamics, optimizing interpersonal relationships, and negotiation breakdowns.

At Meta, Mathilde designs scalable systems that streamline operations and strengthen collaboration for high-level executives across Reality Labs. She also coaches several individuals including – corporate leaders navigating crisis and team/leadership tensions in the workplace, as well as labor professionals engaged in union negotiations. Mathilde also facilitates negotiation workshops with fellow NECR alumni, fostering collaborative learning and peer exchange. 

Mathilde’s career has spanned diverse contexts, from leading crisis response efforts serving 25,000 French citizens during COVID-19, to curating TEDx events in Chicago, and facilitating queer community spaces at Meta to enhance psychological safety amongst coworkers. Her earlier work as a yoga instructor also informs her integrative approach, centering presence, adaptability, and embodied awareness in her conflict resolution practice.

Prior to Columbia, Mathilde earned her B.A. in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan, graduating in the top 3% of her class. Raised Franco-American, she brings a global perspective to her work and a deep appreciation for the role of identity and story in shaping conflict.
