Meichen Liu
ANCoRS Vice President | M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management
Meichen, from Dalian, China, is Co-Vice President of ANCoRs and a graduate student in the M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management program at Columbia University. With international business experience bridging cultures, her diverse cross-sector background includes venture capital, investment banking, medical device start-up and AI educational consulting, spanning the US, China, Japan and Israel, giving her unique perspectives on global business strategy and cross-cultural leadership.
With a BSc (Hons) Economics degree, recognized by her professor as producing "the best final dissertation this year" on beauty premium in labor markets, she brings strong analytical rigor to negotiation. She chaired the Economics Learning Forum and served as the sole student rep on the Social Sciences Executive Board, facilitating monthly discussions with the dean to link students with the faculty. At Columbia, she was selected as a University Life Ambassador. She also organized and led campus tours for visiting groups, fostering cultural exchange for 100+ students.
Selected as a Fellow of TOM @ Columbia (Tikkun Olam Makers), a competitive program supporting student innovators in assistive technology for disabilities, Meichen was recognized for her potential to connect academic theory with real-world applications. She also volunteers as a Teaching Fellow at Columbia Med School, bringing business and investment perspectives to pre-med students, and mentors at Riverside Immigrant Services & Empowerment, providing career and life guidance to NYC immigrants.
Through her work with a neurosurgery medical device start-up, she embraces the idea that "we are the universe trying to understand itself." This perspective informs her study of personality psychology and her approach to connecting with people on deeper levels—bringing both analytical rigor and intuitive insight to conflict resolution.
