On October 27, the Columbia University School of Professional Studies (SPS) will host an inaugural event, Smarter Projects & Stronger Leaders in the Age of AI, celebrating and introducing the new M.S. in Project Management program. Program Director Evangelia Ieronymaki will moderate a discussion with industry leaders and faculty on the evolving landscape of project leadership in a world shaped by innovation and AI.
The event will take place at Columbia’s Pulitzer Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET, and is set to feature Steven Cohen, senior vice dean of SPS and professor in the practice of public affairs in the School of International and Public Affairs; Ibrahim Odeh, founding director of the Global Leaders in Construction Management (GLCM) program and chair of the Engineering and Construction Management program in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at Columbia Engineering; Scott Rosner, program director and professor of professional practice in the M.S. in Sports Management program at SPS; and Shahryar Shaghaghi, program director in the M.S. in Technology Management and professor of professional practice in the M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management.
Evolving from the School’s prestigious M.S. in Construction Administration program, the new Project Management program was established to address the growing demand for adaptable, cross-industry project leaders. Reflecting this need and capitalizing on the School’s strengths, the new program offers students a choice between a generalized track or a concentration in one of four specializations: Construction, Sports Management, Sustainability Management, and Technology Management.
Attendees to the launch event will discover how this future-ready program prepares students to lead complex initiatives across industries by blending human-centered leadership, digital fluency, and responsible integration of AI and other emerging technologies.
