Jason Prince

Jason has worked at the intersection of energy finance, markets, and innovation for over a decade.
He is currently cofounder and CEO of Giraffe Financial, a startup streamlining the process of monetizing Inflation Reduction Act tax credits to incentivize deployment of clean technologies. Previously, he cofounded Momentum X, a venture studio that builds scalable climate finance platforms to direct public and private capital more efficiently towards low-carbon solutions. He also cofounded Third Derivative–a leading climate-tech accelerator–and supported 125 startups that have now raised over $850M. Prior, he worked across programs at RMI leading consulting projects focused on electric grid planning, procurement, and regulation. Before RMI, Jason worked in structured finance at SolarCity/Tesla, originating and closing a $40M financing facility to monetize renewable energy credits, and supporting state level regulatory analysis. Before that, Jason worked at Karbone brokering, researching, and advising on a range of energy and environmental commodities. Jason has also independently consulted on commodity markets and project finance across the US and Canada. Jason holds a MS from Columbia University and a BA from McGill University.
