Valeria Estrella
Course Associate, Information & Knowledge Strategy (IKNS); Design & Innovation Strategist
Valeria Estrella is a strategist and digital product designer with over 10 years of experience leading end-to-end product design and innovation initiatives across fintech, international development, and complex institutional environments. She has led 0→1 initiatives that scaled to more than 5 million people, designing products, programs and knowledge systems that transform how information and services are accessed in mission-driven contexts.
She has held leadership roles across the private, nonprofit, and international development sectors. At Es Hoy, she led cross-sector innovation and product design initiatives focused on strengthening relationships between large corporations and micro and small enterprises through responsible and sustainable business practices. Previously, she held multiple leadership roles at Intercorp Financial Services, including UX and product leadership positions at Interbank, where she led purpose-driven digital product development and large-scale service delivery initiatives in regulated financial environments.
Throughout her career, Valeria has partnered with international organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme, providing strategic design and innovation advisory support. Her work is characterized by translating technical and organizational complexity into clear, actionable solutions in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and a Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy from Columbia University, with a focus on systems thinking, human-centered design and the strategic use of knowledge to drive sustainable impact at scale. She currently teaches Digital Workplace and Digital Transformation and Human-Centered Design for Data-Driven Strategy and Decision-Making at Columbia University in New York.
