Skye Cleary, Ph.D.
Lecturer
Skye Cleary is a philosopher, author, and management consultant with expertise in existential authenticity.
Her work has been published with The Wall Street Journal, The Paris Review, Aeon, Psyche, The Times Literary Supplement, TED-Ed, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Conversation, Business Insider, New Republic, and others. She has published books including How to Be Authentic, Existentialism and the Authentic Life, Existentialism and Romantic Love, and How to Live a Good Life.
As a Thinking Partner at Philosophy at Work, Skye coaches people in thinking more critically and strategically, as well as developing higher levels of self-awareness and nurturing relationships that flourish—with the goal of deeper fulfillment at work and beyond.
Skye is former Editor-in-Chief of the American Philosophical Association’s Blog and a certified fellow with the American Philosophical Practitioners Association. Previously, she was an international equity arbitrageur, a strategic management consultant, and Army Lieutenant.
At SPS, she teaches “The Authentic Leader”. She has also taught courses at universities and a prison in New York City and Sydney including Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Women and Leadership, Social Activism, Corporate Strategy, and Philosophy of Love.
Skye is a DJ, has a black belt in taekwondo, and lives in New York City with her partner, son, and two rescue bunnies.
