Art Chang is an award-winning creative problem solver and change agent with 40 years of experience building and leading startups that solve social and business problems. Today Art applies his insights and experience to advancing equity in underserved communities. 10 years ago, Art wrote, “If change is a measure of success, then the political is by necessity technological.”
Art is the Board Chair at CACF, the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families at the most exciting inflection point in its 35-year history. Art is taking the slow road to his 13th startup, Allie, a platform for micro organizations and businesses. Before that Art ran for Mayor of New York City in the 2021 Democratic primary.
Art’s experience spans over 20 industries and government agencies. Art has been an intrapreneur in large companies like JPMorgan Chase, Pivotal Software, and the New York City and New York State governments. He has been a technology innovator in enterprise software, media and entertainment, e-commerce, fashion, finance, mobile, healthcare, and other sectors, in the U.S. and internationally. Art began his career as a creative and maker.
Art received his MBA in Finance from New York University and his BA from Yale University in Women’s Studies (concentration in Art History) while he worked full-time. Art has lived in Brooklyn since 1985 where he cooks, plays tennis, takes photos, and designs.
