Andrea Yenco

Associate, Human Capital Management

Andrea has a 20-year career in Human Resources working at various public and private Higher Education Institutions ranging in size from 2,000 to 40,000 employees/retirees.  Andrea has held roles in benefits, compensation, and employee relations. She has led her organizations through various workforce reductions and restructurings; performance management rollouts, compensation equity reviews and served as a Human Resources liaison for various union bargaining issues and grievances.

During her time at CUNY (City University of New York) where she served as the University Director of Benefits for the University system, she was as a trustee to the Benefits Welfare plan of the PSC (Professional Staff Congress) which is the largest union at CUNY representing almost 90% of their faculty and staff.  During her time at The New School she was a trustee to the Local 840 Pension fund for the United Teamster fund.

She has won several industry awards including a 2018 Eddy award (issued by Pension and Investment magazine) for Retirement Plan transitions in a 5,000 Pubic Institution and a 2017 Signature award (issued by Plan Sponsor Council of America) for excellence in Retirement Plan Education.

Andrea has a passion for education and training and has designed many programs to help employees understand and maximize their employee benefits, potential retirees understand Medicare and Social Security, and managers understand the complexities of FMLA and reasonable accommodation requests.

Andrea holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sports Management , a Master’s of Science degree in Student Development in Higher Education and an MBA in Finance all with honors from St. John’s University.
