Chair and Professor of Geography and Environmental Science at Hunter College & Director of the Center for Sustainable Cities

Peter J. Marcotullio is Chair and Professor of Geography and Environmental Science at Hunter College & Director of the Center for Sustainable Cities.  He holds a position as adjunct professor at SPS and GSAPP, Columbia University.  His current research focuses on climate vulnerability in New York City.  Recent synthesis activities include membership in the New York City Panel on Climate Change (NPCC4 & NPCC5), and the U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Plan writing team.  He was a co-lead for the NYSERDA Climate Assessment, “Energy” Chapter and a CLA for the “Energy Systems” chapter in the Second North American State of the Carbon Cycle Report (SOCCR2). Prof Marcotullio is co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Urban Climate, Elsevier.
