Sophia Huda

Lecturer, Sustainability Management

Sophia specialises in waste management, environmental health and justice issues. She began her career in the EU where she worked on issues such as chemicals regulation, plastics recycling, and food packaging safety. She has also worked on water justice issues in Palestine and Mexico, environmental health issues in West Africa and South Asia, and recycling and waste management in North America and Europe.

Sophia is also an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University and has previously taught at NYU's School of Global Public Health and Parsons School of Design. She is the Chair of the DEI Council for the National Recycling Coalition and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Nuasin Next Generation Charter School in the Bronx.  She holds a B.A in Political Science from the University of Toronto, a M.Sc in Public Policy from the University of Leuven, and a M.S. in Sustainability Management from Columbia University.
