Growth, Understanding, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (G.U.I.D.E.) Conference

To support DEIA upskilling opportunities for the School of Professional Studies, the SPS DEIA Committee invites those in the SPS community who are interested to attend a virtual conference. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will host its 3rd annual virtual Growth, Understanding, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (G.U.I.D.E.) Conference on November 18, 2022.

The conference aims to equip schools, communities, and workplaces with ways to address the structural inequalities that lead to divergent life outcomes for various communities and provide these institutions with ways to advance inclusion and equity. The goal is to foster community and competency for employers and employees, and the conference will cover subjects such as implicit bias; norms/discomfort in DEI conversations; strategies and potential trends with African American males in higher education; gender identity, equity, and engagement; and L.B.G.T.Q.I.A. issues.

The virtual conference is free. Registration is now open.
