Andrew McCall, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Political Science

Dr. Andrew McCall is an assistant professor of political science at Columbia University. His research on American politics uses formal models and archival sources to examine how the design of police departments can reduce or contribute to racial inequality in policing. He earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley; a B.A. in philosophy, politics, and economics from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar; and a B.A. in philosophy and religion from Truman State University as a National Achievement Scholar. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation and the Center for Empirical Legal Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Before coming to Columbia, he was a Provost Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago.
