Saraya Morgan Ashley

Columbia Fellow 2022 | M.S. in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution - Fisk University

Saraya M. Ashley is an incoming 2022 HBCU Fellow at Columbia University. She is passionate about many things but the most principle being the promotion of equity in the lives of marginalized people nationally and globally. She is interested in the accumulation of knowledge surrounding environmental justice, educational policy and its reform, as well as advocacy to quality practices in healthcare. Saraya’s foundation for her passions is her desire to one day assist in creating sound policy that will grant solace and solutions to populations who have been heavily impacted by environmental racism and social inequity. Saraya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fisk University in Nashville, TN and plans to leverage her masters degree from the SPS Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program with a law degree as well as in her following career pursuits. In addition to her school work, Saraya enjoys volunteering her time through service and advocacy, reading, being outdoors, and listening to podcasts. Miss Ashley knows that in whatever she does and accomplishes professionally, at the core of it all, she wants to open doors for others that come after her and speak up for and empower others to speak up for themselves.
