Maria Colacurcio and Nancy Romanyshyn of Syndio Solutions Join Dr. Edna Chun’s Transforming Total Rewards Class

On November 30, 2021, Maria Colacurcio, CEO of Syndio Solutions, and Nancy Romanyshyn, Director of Pay Strategy and Partner Success at Syndio, visited Dr. Edna Chun’s Transforming Total Rewards class for a highly informative guest lecture on pay equity. Maria Colacurcio underscored the importance of setting starting pay correctly and probing into the root causes of pay inequities in terms of organizational policies, behaviors, and culture. She emphasized the need for preventative approaches to pay, rather than waiting for complaints or issues to arise. In addition, Maria Colacurcio noted the potential for class actions rooted in gender inequities and described the ways in which technology can assist HCM professionals in determining when pay inequities exist.

Nancy Romanyshyn discussed with the class the evolution of HR practices in Total Rewards and how equitable compensation practices contribute to organizational success. In interactive discussion with the graduate students, both Maria Colacurcio and Nancy Romanyshyn shared their work with leading corporations in identifying gaps in the talent pipeline through pay equity analysis. Their in-depth discussion of pay equity analysis highlighted the importance of such analysis for employers in a fast-moving and highly competitive job market.
