Kjerstin Pugh
Deputy Program Director
Kjerstin Pugh serves as the Deputy Program Director for the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (NECR) program, where she also contributes as a Course Associate (NECR 6125, 5250, 6250; BIET 5207).
Her professional and academic interests intersect around inclusion, youth development, community building, and conflict analysis, while her research explores identity, conflict escalation, and inclusive practices. Her work centers on designing transformative learning spaces and inclusive communities, with a focus on reimagining learning and leadership in diverse contexts.
Kjerstin is formally trained in restorative practices, facilitation, family engagement, and Kingian Nonviolence. She has collaborated with organizations such as JAMS, NYCID, Mediators Beyond Borders, the Connecticut State Department of Education, the Educational Opportunities Civil Rights Working Group (United States Attorney’s Office, District of Connecticut), the Anti-Defamation League, and the CMMI Institute.
She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Adult Learning & Leadership at Teachers College, where she continues to explore how educational and organizational spaces can be reshaped to foster equity, dialogue, and transformation.
