SPS Announces Inaugural DEIA Committee

The Columbia University School of Professional Studies is pleased to announce the formation of its inaugural committee on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Committee members were nominated (including self-nominations) in May and were elected this month.

The committee will work with the Chief Diversity Officer and Nonprofit Management Lecturer Erwin de Leon, Ph.D., to identify and recommend policies to institutionalize diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in SPS’s hiring, curriculum development, learning and development programs, support networks, and other practices. The DEIA committee and CDO role are the results of a proposal submitted by a working group that convened at SPS in fall 2020.

Congratulations and welcome to our DEIA committee members. The first meeting will be scheduled soon and will be open to the entire Columbia SPS community.
