Robert Gadd, President & Chief Strategist at OnPoint Digital, a learning technology provider specializing in online and mobile learning solutions, joined Nabeel Ahmad's Digital HR & the Digital Workplace class to discuss changes in learning technology and their effect on effective learning.
Robert addressed a variety of "burning questions" on the topic of technology's role in learning and development (L&D). He briefly touched upon the components that typically comprise a good digital learning experience and included examples across the enterprise, mid-market, government and higher education.
Robert discussed the plethora of L&D tools available in today's marketplace and the increasing need for HR and Learning professionals to discern which platforms will suit their needs. He also provided insight on how to most effectively create a learning technology strategy that works well for the organization.
Trending topics such as the metaverse, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) were discussed. Robert advised students to have a true business need before engaging with any of these technologies and challenged students to avoid using them if only because they are the latest "bright, shiny object."
In his closing words, Robert mentioned the importance of showing L&D metrics and how to best interpret them for maximum impact to the learners and organization.
