How Confirmation Bias Helped Mark Zuckerberg's Testimony

Mark Zuckerberg successfully restored confidence in Facebook during his congressional hearings last week, according to Jesse Scinto, faculty member and alumni of the Executive Master of Science in Strategic Communication program at Columbia University. He delivered these comments during a recent interview on Bloomberg TV Bulgaria. He also offered analysis of the media portrayal of the Cambridge Analytica scandal and the poisoning of former agent Sergei Skripal in the UK.

According to Scinto, these events were examples of the communications phenomena known as confirmation bias, the tendency to interpret new evidence as confirmation of one's existing beliefs. Read all of Scinto's insights and learn more about Columbia's M.S. in Strategic Communication
