Highlights From Construction Administration's Annual Community Event

On Friday evening, November 18, 2016, the Master's of Science in Construction Administration held its 4th bi-annual alumni/student event at the Pig ‘n Whistle Pub on West 46th Street in the heart of the Broadway theater district.

Over 50 CNAD alumni, current, and newly admitted students and other guests enjoyed nearly three hours of networking, socializing, sharing success stories, and reaffirming their commitment to the program. Alumni and students alike, in conversations with program directors Francisco Pineda and Dennis Green, expressed their gratitude for these events.

Alumni expressed appreciation for the School of Professional Studies’ growing commitment to alumni affairs and excitement about the CNAD program’s new direction, including full-time study options and introduction of additional elective courses allowing students to focus on specific areas such as facilities management and property development.

A significant number of alumni also signed up to volunteer for tutoring and mentoring current students, identifying topics and presenters for the ongoing CNAD Speaker Series, and other “give back” opportunities.

Current students took time to applaud the event, saying it was a great way for them to connect with each other professionally outside the classroom and expressing appreciation for the CNAD program and SPS going the extra mile to recognize their special place in our academic community.

A highlight of the evening was a brief talk by special guest Tanya Pope of CU Facilities, who spoke about the Manhattanville campus and the important and challenging role of community relations at the University.

Special thanks to Nick Mannino of the SPS Events team and Deborah Sachare, CNAD student advisor, who worked hard to insure the success of this event.
