Columbia Lecturer a Leader in Finance in New Jersey

Columbia SPS Sports Management lecturer Adam Raiken was named one of New Jersey’s 2023 Leaders in Finance (NJBIZ) early this year. Raiken, who is also the chief financial officer for MetLife Stadium, was among several financial executives to be recipients of the award.

NJBIZ, an online business journalism website, said in a statement that the award “celebrates New Jersey’s financial executives at all levels who contribute to the success of their companies, as well as their communities.”

Honorees were chosen by a panel of experienced financial professionals who assessed nominees based on their involvement in the industry and community, along with professional achievements. Awards were categorized into banking, corporate, investment, and professional.

Before being named CFO, from 2012 to 2016 Raiken served as vice president, finance, for the New Meadowlands Stadium Company LLC, the operating company of MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. MetLife Stadium is home of the New York Giants and New York Jets and is the only stadium in the NFL that is home to two teams.

As the head of the stadium’s finance department, Raiken was responsible for oversight and control of the financial processes for the joint venture. This included working with senior management of the Stadium Company and the New York Jets and New York Giants to analyze the financial implications of all potential business opportunities. Prior to that, Raiken spent several years with the New York Yankees as director of financial operations.
