Erich Morisse

Erich Morisse has spent his career at the point where emerging technology becomes a business strategy. As Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at Lumen Technologies, he helps shape the company’s transformation from a legacy telecommunications carrier into an enterprise focused infrastructure company built for the AI economy. His remit spans Lumen’s Connected Ecosystem corporate pillar, strategic alliances, and the Transformation Office.

Before joining Lumen, Erich spent twenty one years at Red Hat, advancing from enterprise sales engineer to Global Head of Strategic Planning and Operations for Ansible. He led Ansible’s business integration following its acquisition, coauthored an OpenStack total cost of ownership model that quantified the economics of private cloud, and served as interim product owner for Red Hat’s first generative AI product. He is also the sole inventor of U.S. Patent 10,719,384, an applied machine learning method that uses Bayesian networks to infer dependencies and accelerate root cause analysis.

Earlier in his career, Erich was a research scientist at Telcordia Technologies. He has taught graduate courses at Columbia University since 2023.
