Robert Gray Holdom

Vice President, Total Rewards, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital

Bob Holdom is a global compensation and benefits leader with experience in complex matrixed organizations across multiple industries. He has a solid balance of strategic direction and executional excellence, with the executive presence necessary to align day-to-day and transformational agendas with the C-suite and Board of Directors. He has expertise across the full compensation and benefits spectrum, with a specialty in driving employee engagement through the effective management and marketing of the total rewards package.

Currently, Holdom is Vice President, Total Rewards for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, one of the nation’s most comprehensive integrated academic health care delivery systems. Holdom has been with NewYork-Presbyterian since 2015, where he is responsible for managing the compensation and benefits programs for nearly 40,000 employees across NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and the NewYork-Presbyterian Regional Hospital Network. Holdom was brought in to contemporize the newly minted Total Rewards Center of Excellence, as an integral part of the broader HR and Enterprise Transformation at NewYork-Presbyterian. He has brought together 125 staff and onsite resources supporting broad-based Compensation, Executive Compensation, Health Benefits, Retirement Services, NYPBeHealthy employee wellbeing, and Workforce Health & Safety.

Holdom has over two decades of experience in global compensation and benefits. Prior to joining NewYork-Presbyterian, Holdom was the Senior Vice President of Global Compensation and Benefits at NewsCorp, where he led compensation and benefits through NewsCorp’s successful spin-off from 21st Century Fox. He also spent nearly 10 years with American Express in a series of evolving roles managing teams of up to 80 staff globally across Human Resources. Prior to joining American Express, Holdom spent 10 years in the global consulting practices of both Towers Watson and Mercer, working in both the US and Europe. In these positions, he worked with the corporate headquarters of major multinationals on significant global benefits projects.

Holdom has received significant industry recognition, primarily for his groundbreaking work on global wellness, as well as his leadership in employee engagement and communications. He frequently serves as a conference speaker and has had multiple articles written about his work.

Holdom is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA.
