Richard Cunningham

Lecturer; Director of Product, Consumer Reports

As Director of Product at Consumer Reports (CR), Richard Cunningham develops and executes digital strategy across the home, auto, and tech categories in mobile, desktop, and voice-activated channels. He leads two cross-functional agile product teams to implement go-to-market strategies based on customer intelligence data, direct user feedback, and targeted audience testing. Consumer Reports was named FOLIO’s 2019 Digital Team of the Year.

Prior to joining CR, Richard led digital product development teams across a suite of award-winning Time Inc. lifestyle brands. Before his tenure at Time Inc., Richard worked at Columbia University where he launched several marketing campaigns and designed and produced multiple acclaimed digital educational products for the University and its partner organizations, such as the Delaware Art Museum, the New York Tenement Museum, and the New York Historical Society. Richard began his career at TMG, a boutique digital agency where he designed a broad portfolio of websites including the Webby Award-winning Politics.com.

Richard has taught in the SPS Strategic Communication program for eight years.
