Melissa Miller is a Corporate Vice President & Actuary at New York Life Insurance Company, one of the largest mutual life insurers in the United States.
Melissa has worked as an actuary at New York Life for over 9 years and has experience in annuity pricing, experience studies, asset liability modeling and underwriting.
Melissa’s current responsibilities at New York Life include the analysis of utilizing predictive models in underwriting, such as accelerated underwriting models and mortality prediction models. She performs protective value studies, proposes changes to underwriting requirements and supports monitoring efforts.
Melissa has been an Associate for the Insurance Risk Management class at Columbia University since Spring 2019 and will be the Lecturer for the class in Spring 2022.
Melissa is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
