Dr. Joan M. Leiman is Chief of Staff to the President and CEO of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Healthcare System and manages a wide range of issues on his behalf for this leading academic medical center. Prior to assuming this position in February 2001, she served 16 years as Executive Deputy Vice President for the Health Sciences at Columbia University. As a senior officer of the University, she was responsible for the administration of the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Health Sciences Division of the University, including the management of the medical school's affiliation with Harlem Hospital, one of New York City's major public hospitals.
