Janice Satori Weinreb

Associate, American Language Program

Janice Sartori Weinreb has worked in the ESL profession for more than 30 years. She began working at the American Language Program (ALP) in 1982. She has taught a variety of levels but her main focus has been the teaching of writing. Weinreb is certified in AP Language and Composition. She taught both AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition in an award-winning magnet high school in New Jersey. Over the years, she has taught at several colleges within the CUNY system. Weinreb served as Director of the Saturday Center for ESL at Queens College for more than 10 years. She supervised the Teacher Training Program for graduate students in Applied Linguistics at the CUNY Graduate Center. While at CUNY Graduate Center, she established, directed and taught in the ESL Program. In addition to earning a B.A. and an M.A., she has also accrued credits towards a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from The Graduate Center, CUNY.
