J. Douglas Van Ness

Lecturer of Finance

J. Douglas Van Ness is an Innovative financial services executive with extensive experience in capital markets, investment banking, accounting policy and regulatory policy, with extensive focus on securitization markets. His unique background consists of both banking and policy responsibilities.

Lead managed approximately $100 billion of securitization transactions in traditional and non-traditional sectors. Determined accounting and regulatory treatment for transactions executed in fixed income and commodities businesses, structured notes and equity derivatives, drawing upon product expertise, providing quick responses and frequently enhancing transaction structures.

Technical accounting focus on transfers of financial assets, consolidation, derivatives and multi-element transactions. Regulatory focus on securitization and correlation trading. Securitization product focus on credit cards and emerging markets, including cell towers, timberlands, alarm contracts and healthcare receivables.
