George Hardart, M.D

Board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care and Anesthesiology, Dr. George Hardart attends in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. He also serves on the adult and pediatric ethics committees at CUMC, is a past-chair of the Pediatric Ethics Committee and is a pediatric ethics consultant at CUMC. From 2012 to 2013, Dr. Hardart served on the Pediatric Ventilator Allocation working group of the New York State Task Force for Life and the Law.
Dr. Hardart is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications in journals including the Journal of Pediatrics, Critical Care Medicine, and the Journal of Clinical Ethics as well as book chapters and reviews. He is a member of the Ethics Committee of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and the ASBH Clinical Ethics Consultation Affairs Committee.
Dr. Hardart conducts both theoretical and empirical research on a range of ethical issues including family interests in medical decision-making and ethical issues in organ donation after circulatory determination of death. He completed the Fellowship in Medical Ethics at Harvard Medical School.
