Dong Guo

Associate Research Scholar, Sustainability Management; Associate Director, Research Program on Sustainability Policy and Management, Columbia University Earth Institute

Dong Guo is the associate director of the Research Program on Sustainability Policy and Management at Columbia University’s Earth Institute, where he is an associate research scholar. Dr. Guo’s research interests include education and sustainable development, the economics of education, urban sustainability, sustainable finance, sustainability awareness and behavior, and sustainability measurement. Dr. Guo has coedited books on sustainable development in China and coauthored The Financial Ecosystem: The Role of Finance in Achieving Sustainability (with Satyajit Bose and Anne Simpson). Dr. Guo is also an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs where he teaches courses on microeconomics and quantitative methods for master's students in environmental science and policy. Dr. Guo received his PhD in economics and education from Teachers College at Columbia University, an MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a BSc in economics from University College London.
