Dan Giuffrida

Lecturer, Sustainability Management; CEO, Plankton Energy

Dan Giuffrida is the CEO and Founder of Plankton Energy, a commercial-scale solar development firm which serves schools, houses of worship, small & medium enterprises, and community solar. Prior to founding Plankton Energy, Dan was the Vice President of Finance at Safari Energy, a turnkey commercial scale solar developer based in New York, with a focus on tailoring financial solutions for clients and structuring and arranging debt, lease, and tax equity financing. In this role, he has been involved in developing over 70 MW of projects in operation at Safari.

Before joining Safari, Giuffrida was a Lok Capital Fellow at Suryoday Microfinance where he led new market strategy & product development. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he focused on the Power, Utilities & Renewables industry. At BAML, Giuffrida was responsible for conducting complex financial analysis on mergers, acquisitions, and debt and equity capital transactions in excess of $3 billion.
