Beth Hirschhorn

Lecturer

A former Fortune 50 Chief Marketing Officer, Beth Hirschhorn founded her marketing consultancy, iCommercialize, to ensure that what a company brings to market, succeeds in market. With more being asked of marketers, rising consumer expectations, and internal company complexity, businesses access Beth's proven marketing processes and approaches and turn their ideas, programs and products into profitable ones.

Before starting iCommercialize, Beth led marketing worldwide for Kaplan Inc., the $2 billion diversified education company operating in over 200 countries. She was charged with building a premium global brand and advancing Kaplan’s digital and customer experience capabilities. Beth was a member of Kaplan’s Executive Team and served on the Investment and Capital Allocation Committees.

Prior to joining Kaplan, Beth was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of MetLife, Inc. and a member of its executive group. She led several major initiatives for the company that dramatically improved the customer experience and strengthened MetLife’s reach and market share. Earlier in her career at JPMorgan Chase, Beth was the Senior Vice President leading its consumer financial services marketing unit. Her P&L responsibilities encompassed all fee and net interest income generated by the $60B retail product portfolio.

As an educator, Beth encourages her graduate school students to shift their resources and mindsets from an acquisition-only orientation to being retention and lifetime-value focused. For twenty years, she has been an Admissions Ambassador for Cornell University, meeting one-on-one with prospective students to humanize the college admissions process. Beth is a member of the Women’s Forum of New York, the premier women’s organization comprised of the highest women achievers across all industry sectors.

A well-known speaker and advisor, she has been named Financial Communications Society’s Marketer of the Year and Working Mother of the Year; she also sits on Crain’s 40 Under 40 list. She's been a guest on ESPN, CNN, MSNBC, Fox Business News, PBS, and a panelist on The McLaughlin Group.
