Aristargos (Harry) Christodoulou is an international corporate attorney, risk advisor and dispute resolution practitioner, having litigated cases in the United States, Europe, Africa and Australia. He joined Scarola Zubatov Schaffzin PLLC as Counsel in 2015 and is a former equity partner of the global law firm DLA Piper (in its former group firm in South Africa), where he was appointed as the firm’s sole insolvency law specialist, having notable experience advising failing and distressed corporate enterprises. Harry has handled high-profile corporate bankruptcies and complex commercial matters, such as the liquidation of Hyundai Motors in Africa. Harry has represented government and quasi-government agencies in legal disputes and other business matters and has advised several international banks, including a reserve bank.
As a certified mediator and third party neutral, Harry successfully mediated a billion-dollar joint venture mining dispute and mediated a $500-million commercial real estate dispute in New York. He is passionate about community engagement and using his conflict resolution skills to build peace and restore broken relationships. He is the former Chair of the New York Peace Institute’s Mediator Advisory Board, where he coached, mentored and taught in the Institute’s advanced civil court mediation training. Harry is appointed to the neutrals roster of the Southern District of New York and serves as an arbitrator for the New York County Lawyers Association. He is honored to have coached NYPD Officers, Detectives, Sergeants and Lieutenants in basic mediation training and appear as a panelist in the Institute’s Mediation Settlement Day event. Harry is admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
