What FLACO taught us: thoughts on urban wildlife and the human connection
Ecologist Carl Safina, the author of nine bestselling books about the natural world, will speak about the wider meaning of the Eurasian eagle owl Flaco’s life in New York.
Dr. Safina’s latest book, from Norton, is Alfie and Me: What Owls Know, What Humans Believe.
Dr. Safina, president of the Safina Center, will be introduced by science journalist and SUMA instructor Claudia Dreifus.
This open session of Professor Dreifus’s regular class Writing about Global Science for the International Media is presented by the master’s of Sustainability Management program of the Columbia University School of Professional Studies.
The event will include a Q&A session, book signing, and refreshments.
