NECR Webinar Series: Restorative Justice in the Special Jurisdiction for Peace

During our February webinar, special guest Dr. Ariel Sánchez Meertens, Head of the Restorative Justice Office for the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (in Spanish: Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz, JEP), will discuss his work and the role of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (SJP). The SJP is the justice component of the Integrated System for Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-Repetition and is tasked with investigating, clarifying, prosecuting, and punishing the most serious crimes committed during the 50+ years of armed conflict in Colombia preceding December 1, 2016. He will dive into how restorative justice practice operates and what outcomes look like in this important work.
