M.S. Nonprofit Management Student & Faculty Meet, Greet & Eat with Dr. Paula Sonja Karlsson-Brown
M.S. Nonprofit Management Students and Faculty joined us on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5-6 PM on campus for a brief Meet, Greet & Eat! event with Dr. Paula Karlsson-Brown, who is visiting us from The University of Glasgow in Scotland.
Students and faculty engaged in a conversation with Dr. Karlsson-Brown and each other regarding international nonprofit organizations and NGOs and nonprofit resilience and risk management.
A light selection of sandwiches and wraps were provided as snacks after work and before class.
More about Dr. Paula Karlsson-Brown
Dr. Karlsson-Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Management at The University of Glasgow in Scotland. Her background is in risk management with a specific interest in public services, mainly those delivered by the nonprofit sector (through different collaborative arrangements). Dr. Karlsson-Brown is a Co-Chair of the Charities Special Interest Group at the Institute of Risk Management and is currently working on a circular economy research project involving Scottish nonprofit organizations.
She was visiting U.S. nonprofit management programs and service learning centers with the goal of implementing more substantial course opportunities related to nonprofit management for undergraduate students. This event gave Dr. Karlsson-Brown an opportunity to to learn from the Columbia Nonprofit Management community and share more of her background and connect with our community on mutual scholarly interests.
