Identity, Communication, and DEIA Work

Working groups with an equity and inclusion charge tend to be one of an organization’s most diverse bodies, reflecting different social identities, positions in the organizational hierarchy, and job functions. Too often, these committees assume a common baseline of internal knowledge and jump immediately into external projects on behalf of the organization. This workshop aims to engage DEIA committee-members in dialogue-based exercises that explore the identities we hold, how those identities might show up in our work, and what effective communication and trust-building looks for leaders tasked with furthering institutional change.
