Election Hindsight is 20/20: Initial Review of 2020 Elections and the Start of 2024
The 2020 national and state election cycle deeply impacted the U.S. nonprofit sector, with intended and unintended consequences for years to come. As communities continue to endure challenges brought on by the pandemic, rebuild after multiple devastating natural disasters, and address impassioned demands for racial justice and equity, nonprofit organizations will play a critical role in short- and long-term support, rebuilding, advocacy, opportunity, and growth.
Did the 2020 election serve our nonprofit sector and our communities well? After the final ballot was counted, we set out of uncover what the 2020 election meant to our sector, the people it serves and the issues they promote.
At the fifth workshop in our Elections 2020 series, nonprofit leaders and political experts provided their rapid-fire first impressions of how the election season at both the state and federal levels played out as our sector looked ahead and started planning anew for the 2021 and 2024 races.
