Career Development in a Virtual Workplace | Noontime Knowledge Series

Career development is an evolving, lifelong challenge that includes methodical progress and calculated risks. Our interests, knowledge, and skills at the workplace naturally transform over time as we become more intellectually curious about how our contributions affect the larger organization.

Because of the 2020 Pandemic, traditional approaches to managing our careers have changed and will likely continue to evolve as businesses adapt to the virtual workplace environment.

During this event, we will:

  • Identify options to successfully work in an online environment
  • Provide insight regarding job growth in this new virtual professional workspace
  • Demonstrate ways to develop a career action plan for working remotely

  • Presentation (10 - 15 minutes)
  • Panel Discussion of submitted questions by the audience (20 minutes)

Noontime Knowledge Series

Noontime Knowledge is a series of online events designed to provide valuable and topical information via an interactive approach. From encouraging people to engage by submitting questions before or during an event, to hosting break-out sessions customized to meet the participants' diverse interests, we strive to create a community of critical thinkers who will continue the conversation beyond the one hour session. Participants will be invited to join a closed LinkedIn Group where people will be able to continue networking and have access to Noontime Knowledge recordings, materials, etc.

For information about the Noontime Knowledge Series, please contact postbacc [[at]] sps [[dot]] columbia [[dot]] edu.

Space is limited - access to these virtual events will be first come, first served.
