Joon was born in the United States and grew up in the New York / New Jersey area. He moved to Seoul, Korea with his family when he was 12 where he attended an international school. After completing high school, he came back to New York and earned his bachelor's degree studying Finance and International Business at New York University Stern Undergraduate College.
Currently, Joon is a Portfolio Manager at APG Asset Management US. Previously he helped to establish Hanwha Asset Management's U.S. real estate platform and led Hanwha's real estate investment activities in the region. Prior to joining Hanwha, Joon worked at Avenue Capital Group, Monday Properties, and Cassidy Turley.
Joon is studying to earn his master's degree in Information & Knowledge Strategy (IKNS) at Columbia University School of Professional Studies to learn how to lead and build knowledge-based organizations. Joon enjoys playing basketball and golf, reading, playing the piano, and jazz and classical music.
