Sayed Ammar Nakshawani, PhD, MS

Islamic Scholar

Dr Sayed Ammar Nakshawani is an Islamic scholar, author and internationally recognised lecturer. Having completed his undergraduate studies at the University College London and his PhD at the University of Exeter, he went on to study at the Islamic Seminary in Damascus. He was a visiting scholar at the Centre of Islamic Studies, University of Cambridge and then moved to the USA, to become the inaugural holder of the Imam Ali Chair for Shi’i Studies and Dialogue amongst Islamic Legal Schools at the Hartford Seminary. Dr. Nakshawani was an associate at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer centre for Science and International Affairs. 

 Dr Nakshawani has been featured in the ‘Muslim 500’ since 2013, a list highlighting the 500 most influential Muslims in the World.
