John Sanful

Speaker; Manager, NHL Foundation

John leads the NHL Foundations in the United States and Canada. He directed the recent restructuring of the foundation and its areas of focus. John also oversees the NHL’s strategic corporate and philanthropic relationships through the league’s Corporate Giving Fund. Prior to this position, John served as the Executive Director of Ice Hockey in Harlem from 2011-2018 where thousands of Harlem youth learned to play hockey, advanced their academic opportunities, and improved individual life skills. From 2004-2011, John was the Executive Director of Career Gear, an organization assisting underserved men with business attire, interview counseling, and professional development support services. John’s Board leadership experience includes terms with The Fortune Society, a nonprofit organization strengthening the fabric of local communities in New York City through its successful re-entry programs for formerly incarcerated individuals, and WHY Hunger, an anti-poverty organization fighting hunger around the world at a grassroots level. John studied political science at Iona College. In 2006, he was a Coro Foundation Leadership New York Fellow. In 2008, John was selected as a Founding Fellow with the Tenenbaum Leadership Initiative with The Milano School at The New School of Management and Urban Policy.
