Merci Decker
Part-Time Lecturer
Merci Decker, Ph.D. is a rhetorical communication consultant and a part-time Lecturer. Decker has over fifteen years of experience teaching courses in communication studies including: argumentation, gender and communication, intercultural communication, strategic communication, organizational communication, and public speaking.
Decker holds a master’s degree in communication studies from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a Ph.D. from the University of Memphis, specializing in Rhetoric, Politics, and Society. She has been published in the Studies in Popular Culture journal and has presented her research at regional, national, and international conferences. Decker’s most recent publications include a chapter in Education 3.0 and eLearning Across Modalities and a case study in Casing Organizational Communication.
When not working, you can find her experiencing Michigan’s wildlife, volunteering, enjoying the eclectic and artistic areas of Detroit, and at home with her two cats.
