Lydia Fass
Lecturer, American Language Program; Coordinator, International Teaching Fellows Program
Lydia Fass has taught at the American Language Program since 2018, in both the Intensive English and the Advanced Academic English for Graduate Students programs. She has taught at several other universities in the New York City area as well. Before coming to New York, Fass worked at the University of Minnesota, where she served as an Education Specialist / Level Coordinator and Program Coordinator for the summer intensive English program. From 1998 to 1999, she spent a year at EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia, serving as the Coordinator of Research and Development in the university's language center. In this capacity, she coordinated the center's professional development, chaired its academic committee, and directed a research project on oral language instruction. Fass' areas of interest include teaching pronunciation, communication skills, and academic preparation. She is also interested in curriculum and materials development.
Lydia Fass received her M.A. in TESOL from the University of Minnesota in 1991. She has a B.A. in International and Intercultural Communications from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, and a Master's of Landscape Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design.
