Alik Hinckson
Lecturer; Chief Financial Officer, World Resources Institute
Alik Hinckson is the Chief Financial Officer for the World Resources Institute (www.wri.org), a global research organization that turns ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity and human well-being.
As the Chief Financial Officer of WRI, he is responsible for long-range strategic financial planning, grants & compliance management, financial accounting, and sustainable investment management for the $200M, 1800 person global organization.
Alik also consults to national and international non-profits on strategy, financial planning, operational excellence and M&A. He additionally serves as a strategic advisor to KlimaDAO, a blockchain-based carbon finance company, and is on the board of advisors of the Pace University Lubin School of Business Transformative Leadership Program.
In the 20 years prior to joining WRI, Alik served as the CFO of the Rainforest Alliance, Pact Global and Prep for Prep. He was also the head of International Finance at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), head of Finance for the International Center for AIDS Care & Treatment Programs (ICAP), and Director of Treasury at Columbia University. Alik started his finance career at Deloitte providing international clients with financial consulting services.
